You will be working in the Infrastructure OU based in Cambridgeshire, where we are responsible for bringing design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide – combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.


We are currently looking for a Commercial Manager - Highways who will perform commercial management or specialist commercial duties as part of a project team.


As the Commercial Manager - Highways, you will:

  • Assist the close out of procurement of the final Subcontract packages, providing input into the Technical Scope documents, selection of Subcontract forms and comparing / selection process.
  • Undertake and oversee subcontractor administration (NEC4 various options).
  • Identification and valuation of change, manage and report on risks and opportunities.
  • Control of project documentation. Ensure required records are produced and stored by utilising commercial and document IT systems (Oracle, CEMAR, ProjectWise).
  • Liaise with the Client representatives on commercial issues, including the agreement of costs.


We are looking for:

  • Detailed working knowledge of contract/commercial law
  • Previous experience at Commercial Manager level.
  • Experience of working at a commercial capacity within senior management teams
  • MRICS / CICES qualified highly desirable/degree or equivalent educated in a relevant subject.
  • Previous experience working on major infrastructure contracts desirable.
  • NEC Contract Experience - Specifically NEC 4 Option and subcontract management.
